Power yoga is actually not a separate style of yoga, rather an adjusted vinyasa type of yoga with the difference that power yoga is more fitness oriented and thus faster and uses up more energy. The term power yoga has been used since the beginning of the 1990s when the great yoga boom started and to make the overall concept of yoga more acceptable for wider audience the classical concept of yoga was changed to power yoga.
Nowadays power yoga does not follow a certain combination of positions as it is in different classical yoga styles, thus there is no clear style of power yoga, but it is rather a name of the whole genre of yoga class types.
As it was said before power yoga varies quite substantially and actually the main factor that influences the level of difficulty of power yoga is the teacher. If you are thinking of joining a power yoga class, you should take into account that this yoga type demands that you are already rather fit and that you like exercising. In addition, the level of meditation is taken to minimum with power yoga, so if you enjoy taking some time off to meditate in your yoga class then you should probably find some other style.
